Small companies in Asia

With the exit of Betfair and earlier on, problems faced by 888, it is rather obvious that the remaining players in the Asian space are the small to medium sized companies that face the threat or blessing of being bought by the giants like Party Gaming.
Is it the lack of understanding the complex systems existing in Asia or is Asia an impossible market? We believe that Party Gaming enter the USA market at the precise period when the companies are highly critical and did not have a good grasp of what works and not.

Need to focus

There are so many different variations of card games that it is truely mind-boggling and a need to focus on a few games where the stake within a round can be tremendously increased. That will lubricate the whole process of maximising players potential.

Time for Asia Poker

Time to gather around partners or investors for the Asia version of the online poker business. The initial optimism has now evolved into a totally different scenario. Asia is way too big and different to allow us the luxury of adopting a single strategy. Unlike USA. The kind of leverage Party Poker achieves is simple not possible here in Asia. However, it is still a very significant especially the China market.

Success in London, more to go

The overhelming success in Party Gaming is indeed a trend to watch out. Who would have predicted such a progress in such an industry perceived to be so dangerous 5 years back. Going forward, this is still pretty much a risky business, even though the floated companies will never ever admit it. But the upside is very much there for the whole industry as a whole.

More will be invested and interest will roll for a little while especially in the caucasian developed countries. More will float and London is just going to be filled up the neck with capital, interest and companies taking a quick bite at the sudden growth. Competition will heat up in those areas and will & is indeed spilling over into Asia.

888 is pretty active in China and of course with the other small to mid size online gaming companies targeting mainly the football and traditional dealer-player casino games. The online poker market is pretty virgin? Not really if you track the complex China market closely.

The One Annual Report

For once is there hope that the Asia online gaming industry can shake itself off a little from the some of these potentially violent Asian bosses.

The mini-version annual reports of Party Gaming sure goes a long way to putting in place the 'dark' past. Indeed an eye-opener. Not the first but still pretty amazing it can happen.

The Party momentum

Party Poker is gathering momentum.
The market is buzzing with rumours and fact. The secretive manner it proceeds for the float makes it all the more interesting than anything. The size of the float will definitely give the whole industry a steroids boost.

Time to cheers to that?
Since there is a good 3 to 5 years before the magnitude of this potential development can be experienced here in Asia. Time for serious work in Asia if the momentum ends up a blessing for such a frowned-upon industry.
